• Common gynaecological procedures and surgeries

  At St Andrew's, our gynaecologists offer a full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical treatments, from minimally invasive procedures to advanced surgical options. These include:

  • Hysteroscopy: Diagnostic hysteroscopy for irregular periods/endometrial sampling; removal of endometrial polyps and submucosal fibroids; endometrial ablation for management of heavy menstrual bleeding.
  • Cystoscopy: Treatment and removal of abnormal tissue.
  • Fertility conservation.
  • Hysterectomy: Total abdominal hysterectomy and sub-total abdominal hysterectomy; vaginal hysterectomy; total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH); laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH).
  • Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery: Hysterectomy (TLH); excision/ablation of endometriosis; treatment of adhesions; removal of ovarian cysts; removal of ovaries; treatment of ectopic pregnancy; testing for fallopian tube patency and function; surgical occlusion/ligation of fallopian tubes.
