Natasha Keir
Nurse Practitioner in Breast Care (Oncology)

After graduating from QUT, Natasha commenced her nursing career in 1993. Early in her career, she worked in the Intensive Care Unit at The Wesley Hospital but with her interest in women’s health, she was offered an opportunity to be trained as a breast care nurse at The Wesley. In 2014, she came to St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital to establish the St Andrew’s Breast Care Service, which she calls the best decision she ever made.

Natasha is Queensland’s first Nurse Practitioner in Breast Care (Oncology). This role enables her to provide further comprehensive care to the patients of St Andrew’s. However, she says she is just one member of an awesome team that includes surgeons, oncologists, nurses, allied health, medical imaging and the support staff of St Andrew’s.

The best part of her job is the phenomenal patients she gets to meet and care for – their strength, courage, resilience and candour inspire her every day.
