Associate Professor Patrick Weinrauch is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1997. He completed Advanced Training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Queensland and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2006. He then undertook advanced post-graduate Fellowship training in the surgical management of hip disorders. In 2007 Dr Weinrauch was appointed as Clinical Fellow Hip Surgery to Professor Damian Griffin at the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire England, specialising in hip arthroscopy, hip resurfacing, hip replacement and revision hip arthroplasty. During this time he also trained at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham England under Mr John O'Hara. In 2008, A/Prof Weinrauch established the Brisbane Hip Clinic at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital, Brisbane Australia.

A/Prof Weinrauch exclusively manages hip joint disorders in adults and adolescents. His practice includes hip joint arthroscopy, hip joint preservation surgery, hip resurfacing and hip replacement procedures (primary and revision). A significant proportion of Dr Weinrauch's private practice is dedicated to the management of active people and athletes with hip disorders who wish to maintain high activity levels and function in both sporting and recreational pursuits.

A/Prof Weinrauch is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He is a member of the Australian Arthroplasty Society, Australian Medical Association and the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition, A/Prof Weinrauch is a member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and a foundation member of the Australian Hip Arthroscopy Society.

A/Prof Weinrauch maintains interest in clinical research and orthopaedic engineering, with multiple publications and a Master of Engineering thesis relating to revision of hip joint replacements. He is currently appointed as an Associate Professor at the Griffith University School of Medicine. He has established a robust research and development program through the Brisbane Hip Clinic Research Institute and St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital to assess the performance of innovative methods in the management of hip disorders. A/Prof Weinrauch is actively involved in medical education, conducting regular demonstrations and lectures on advanced techniques in hip joint surgery to train colleague Orthopaedic Surgeons based both within Australia and internationally.  As a reference centre Surgeon, A/Prof Weinrauch delivers post-graduate Surgeon Education Training Programs to demonstrate techniques of anterior approach total hip replacement, revision hip replacement and hip arthroscopy procedures.
