Dr Heather Curley
Dr Curley is a caring and enthusiastic physician. Her areas of special interest are preoperative assessments, perioperative care, and the care of complex medical problems, both in the hospital and outpatient setting.
Born and raised in Canberra, Dr Curley completed her Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney before completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 2007. Her postgraduate medical training was
undertaken in Queensland at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Townsville University Hospital, Nambour Hospital, and Toowoomba Hospital. Dr Curley obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2016.
She has extensive experience in the education and training of medical students and junior doctors, including roles with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She strives to maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge through continuing education, including
participation in educational courses and regular attendance at scientific conferences.
After spending a number of years caring for patients in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region, Dr Curley relocated to Brisbane in 2024 with her husband and two children. She is now a visiting specialist at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital.
