    Patient and visitor information

    Due to the increase of COVID-19 in the community, visitors are currently being MONITORED.

    You may not enter a hospital if you are:

    • positive for COVID during the previous 14 days
    • an international arrival within the last 7 days
    • experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID
    • a close contact of a positive COVID case and 7 days from the positive test has not passed
    • unvaccinated
    • unless you are seeking medical care or have sought an exemption for exceptional circumstances.

    To enter a hospital, you must:

    • be fully vaccinated
    • follow all reasonable directions provided including wearing a mask at all times within the facility
    • comply with visitor number restrictions
    • again, exemptions may be sought for exceptional circumstances.

    Please note:

    • Patients staying overnight or longer (inpatients) may have 2 vaccinated visitors at any one time between 10am – 8pm.
    • Children attending the hospital for a day procedure may have only 1 vaccinated parent, carer or guardian accompany them.
    • Emergency Centre patients may have 1 vaccinated person accompany them at any time (24/7).
    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients may have visitors from 3pm – 8pm at the discretion of the patient’s treating team.
    • If you have been diagnosed with Covid-19 or have had Covid-19 recently, please contact your Specialist to see if your surgery needs to be postponed.
    • All patients booked for surgery will receive a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) upon arrival. This will be provided by and facilitated by the hospital.
    • Visit Queensland Health for the latest Hospital Visitor Entry Direction.


    Please note: COVID-19 testing is not conducted at this site. For a COVID-19 test, please go to one of Queensland Health's approved testing locations.


    Visiting hours

    General hospital visiting hours: 2 vaccinated visitors per inpatient at any one time between 10am – 8pm.
    Children attending the hospital for a day procedure may have 1 vaccinated parent, carer or guardian accompany them.

    Emergency Centre: 1 vaccinated support person per patient at any time (24/7).

    ICU: Visitor/s permitted from 3pm – 8pm at the discretion of the patient’s treating team.
