Dr James Fardoulys retirementAfter three decades in private practice here at St Andrew’s, we recently celebrated with Dr James Fardoulys as he begins retirement.

A highly-skilled orthopaedic surgeon subspecialising in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries, Dr Fardoulys has made an immeasurable contribution to patient care, to those who’ve had the opportunity to work with him, and to medicine more broadly.

His dedication and expertise also earned him the trust of many elite athletes, sporting clubs and associations, including Queensland Cricket, Brisbane Lions and Queensland Bulls among others, who regularly turned to him as their preferred orthopaedic surgeon.

James’ contributions extend well beyond our operating theatres through education and mentorship as a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University and The University of Queensland Medical Schools, and as a member of the Australian Knee Society, Australian Shoulder and Elbow Society and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr Fardoulys for his extraordinary service to St Andrew’s and wish him all the very best for a well-deserved retirement.
