Construction is underway on an exciting new development at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, designed to meet growing demand for surgical treatment in the heart of Brisbane CBD.
Scheduled for completion in April 2025, the St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital Day Surgery Centre will provide a variety of minor procedures and a dedicated day surgery experience for both adults and children who don’t require an overnight stay in hospital.
With the support of St Andrew’s leading surgeons and specialists, the Centre will initially offer plastic and oculoplastic surgery, pain procedures, maxillofacial, dental, as well as minor urology, gynaecology and orthopaedics.
The brand-new facility will feature two procedure rooms, an operating theatre, as well as admission and recovery spaces.
Patients can expect a more convenient, streamlined admission, while not compromising the exceptional care they have come to expect from St Andrew’s.

“In addition to the growing healthcare needs of our community, the Centre has been designed with changing patient and clinician preferences for same-day procedures in mind.
“St Andrew’s Day Surgery Centre will enhance patient experience and timely access for patients and their referring doctors to high-quality and efficient surgical care.
“Importantly, this expansion will also allow us to provide more of the acute surgical care we are known for at St Andrew’s through our main theatre complex, such as cardiac, orthopaedic and urology surgeries,” she said.
St Andrew’s Day Surgery Centre will feature a contemporary design that promotes a calm and supportive environment for patients, their families and carers.
Located directly opposite St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital on North St, Spring Hill, the Day Surgery Centre will be conveniently linked directly to the main hospital building by linkway bridge.
