Prof David Walker BMedSc, MBBS, PhD, FRACS

Dr David Walker completed his medical degree with honors at the University of Queensland in 1990. Before undertaking advanced training, he undertook a PhD at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research studying the molecular genetics of astrocytomas.
He completed his neurosurgical training at the Royal Brisbane and Royal Melbourne Hospitals, obtaining the highest marks in all specialties in FRACS examinations in May, 1999. Dr Walker undertook post-fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard University, Boston, USA, and returned to Brisbane in 2001.
Dr Walker has a special interest in brain tumors, pituitary disease and minimally invasive neurosurgery, and is actively involved in basic and clinical research in the field.
