St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital has been rated as being in the top 12 per cent of private hospitals in the 151 to 300 beds category in a patient survey.
In the patient survey conducted by Press Ganey, St Andrew's was also rated in the top 17 per cent of all hospitals surveyed in Australia.
Andrew Barron, St Andrew's General Manager, praised the hospital team for achieving this success.
"This is another notable success for our hospital, achieved thanks to the efforts, dedication and commitment of our staff to our patients," Andrew said.
"Every area and service within the hospital increased its score and special mention must be made of our Emergency Centre which was rated in the top one per cent of hospitals in our category.
"These outstanding results are particularly pleasing as this was a very comprehensive survey involving approximately 300 St Andrew’s patients who were asked about their satisfaction of the care and service they received.
"The responses from our patients were fantastic."
Scores from these survey responses are converted to a percentile ranking that compares us with other hospitals.
In the latest survey St Andrew's scored higher than:
- 88 per cent of private hospitals in our size
- 83 per cent higher than all hospitals
- 79 per cent higher than private hospitals.
Andrew said: "The initiatives we have implemented to improve the care we provide, including our Living Values programs: hourly rounding and patient communication noticeboards, are certainly being appreciated.
"On behalf of the St Andrew’s Executive team I would like to thank each and every one of you for your efforts, dedication and commitment to providing first class treatment to our patients."
The results across UnitingCare Health are also outstanding.
UCH has significantly improved in almost every area since the survey conducted in 2012, and in some instances we are at the very highest level compared to our benchmarked group.
