Dr Viral Chikani FRACP, MBBS

Dr Viral Chikani is a consultant endocrinologist practicing at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. He also provides inpatient care at Greenslopes Private Hospital. He sees patients with diabetes and general endocrine disorders.
Dr Chikani undertook basic physician training at the Prince Charles Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He completed the specialist training in endocrinology at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. His research interests are pituitary disorders and exercise physiology. He is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland investigating growth hormone effects on physical function and exercise capacity. He has presented his research work at the national and international scientific meetings.
Dr Chikani remains active in medical education and research, holding a position as a Lecturer with the University of Queensland. He is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, the Australian Diabetes Society, the American Endocrine Society, and the European Society of Endocrinology.
