A 12 Month program, we offer the opportunity to consolidate your skills in a single clinical specialty – deepening your learning experience, and setting you up for success.
Two streams to consolidate your skills:
General Nursing:
- Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Palliative Care
- Cardiology / Coronary Care
- Cardiothoracic/Vascular
- Orthopaedics/Neuroscience/Neurosurgery
- Rehabilitation
- Surgical – Adult and Paediatrics, Plastics, ENT, Colorectal Eye, Gynaecology, General Surgical
Whilst not offered as a specific stream, nearly 20% of our surgical patients are Paediatric.
Perioperative Stream
There are three Perioperative Programs available at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital:
- Scrub/Scout Program
- PACU (Post Anaesthetics Care Unit)
- Anaesthetics Program
Both programs include a comprehensive theoretical component as well as a supportive clinical component
