Dr Geoff Donald is one of Brisbane’s leading Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons, treating predominantly Paediatric Orthopaedic Patients and also selected orthopaedic conditions for Adult Patients in Brisbane.  

His Private Practice is based at St Andrew’s war Memorial Hospital in Brisbane, and he has operating lists at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and Mater Children’s Private Hospital Brisbane.

Dr Donald is a specialist in Limb Reconstruction, Limb Lengthening and Deformity Correction. Dr Donald has established two state-wide services: the Paediatric Limb Reconstruction Service and the Queensland Clubfoot Service – both at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Queensland Children's Hospital. His skills, training and experience mean he can offer world-class treatment in paediatric orthopaedics and paediatric hip osteotomy.

Dr Donald is actively engaged in the continuing education and supervision of Medical Students, Junior Doctors, Advanced Orthopaedic Surgery Trainees and Fellows. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.

Dr Donald has extensive experience in both Adult and Paediatric Limb Reconstruction, Deformity Correction, and limb lengthening, with considerable sub-specialist training in all aspects of Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and some Adult Orthopaedic Surgery. 

Educated in New Zealand, Dr Donald received his medical degree from the University of Auckland in 1996. He completed advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Sydney, Australia. Dr Donald’s practice overs both adult and paediatric patients with a sub-specialty interest in Limb Reconstruction Surgery, Paediatric Hip Osteotomy and Orthopaedic Trauma. He completed his Fellowship training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

Based in Queensland, he is currently consulting from his Private Rooms, Suite 1 Level 4 at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital. Dr Donald is also a Senior Visiting Medical Officer at Queensland Children’s Hospital, Brisbane.

Previously, Dr Donald held the position of Director Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital and later at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Dr Donald has considerable experience in deformity correction, having worked at Westmead Children’s Hospital, Sydney, and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, where he completed his Advanced Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
