UCH Innovation and Excellence Awards

11-11-2016

UnitingCare Health’s Innovation and Excellence Awards were held on Monday October 31, at the Victoria Park Golf Course in Brisbane. The annual event is an opportunity for UnitingCare Health to celebrate the innovative projects and initiatives being delivered across all four of our hospitals.

Teams and departments were invited to submit nominations across six different categories. A number of outstanding finalists were shortlisted and invited to present their projects, or initiatives, at the Innovation and Excellence Awards ceremony. The winners were announced and awarded on the day.

Group Executive UnitingCare Health, Arthur Yannakou said that the nominations received this year and the outstanding initiatives that have been implemented are second to none.

“Thank you to the people who took the time to recognise their colleagues. I congratulate all involved in making these achievements a success. Their ongoing commitment to innovation in order to improve patient outcomes helps UnitingCare Health deliver on its vision of providing excellent standards in health care.”

CEO Anne Cross said it was wonderful to see firsthand the research taking place among UCQ’s hospital group that is driving change and best practice in healthcare.

“The achievements of our winners, nominees and finalists demonstrate how we are successfully developing clever solutions backed by data and feedback about the delivery of our healthcare services to the community. There is a lot of passion driving these projects which brings my attention to our former UCH Chief Medical Officer Dr Luis Prado, who was such a passionate and committed leader. In his honour, next year we will introduce to the award program, the Dr Luis Prado Excellence in Patient Care Award.”
